I would add to your comparison of their ages that while the ages seem relatively similar at both band's beginning, The Beatles spent three years or so playing squalid venues in seedy cities before they became famous. This period refined them as musicians and exposed them to the real world of dank streets and (literally) whores, and this turned out to be fine inspiration for their later work. And unfortunately I must remind you that the recognition that The Beatles' music "(w)as the epitome of its time" as you wrote did not occur until some time had elapsed. Sadly, The Jonas Brothers' music may well be just that. Then again, we won't know for a while, will we? Thank heaven for retrospection. Right on Melissa.
